Using Our Site

Welcome to B2C's website. This page covers what you can expect when you use our website, and what we ask in return. "We" means B2C. "You" means anyone using our site. By using our website, you're agreeing to what's here, along with our approach to privacy.

Things may change

We may update these terms or our site's content from time to time. We'll publish changes on our website, so check back occasionally. We do our best to keep things as accurate and current as possible.

Using our site

You're welcome to use our website and its content for its intended purpose — to learn, connect and engage with B2C's work supporting regional and rural communities. We're giving you permission to access and use our site for personal, non-commercial purposes.

What we can't do is give you the right to use our content for other purposes without asking first. If you'd like to use something beyond learning and browsing — like republishing an article or using our materials in your own work — you must reach out and ask us first.

A few things we ask you not to do

We trust our community to be respectful and thoughtful, but here are a few things that are not allowed:

  • Don't misuse the site — this includes anything harmful, illegal, or that could bring B2C into disrepute.

  • Respect others' privacy — don't upload or share someone's personal information without their permission.

  • Be kind — don't use our site to harass, threaten, or offend anyone.

  • Don't interfere with others — let fellow users enjoy the site without disruption.

  • Don't tamper with the site — no viruses, hacking attempts, or anything that could damage or disrupt how our site works.

  • No spam — don't use our site to send unsolicited messages.

  • Don't use our content to compete with us — we're a not-for-profit working hard to support our community.

  • And please don't help anyone else do any of the above.

If any of this happens, we may need to restrict or block access to keep our community and website safe and functional.

Our content: what it is and what it isn't

The information on our site is there to inform, educate, and inspire — but it's general in nature. It doesn't take into account your specific circumstances, and it's not professional advice (business, financial, legal, or otherwise).

We do our best to make sure what we publish is accurate and helpful, but we can't guarantee it's complete, current, or suitable for your particular situation. Any decisions you make based on our content are yours, and we encourage you to seek tailored advice.

Who owns what

Unless we say otherwise, we own or have permission to use all the content on our site — including text, images, logos, designs and resources. This is our work and the work of people who've contributed to B2C's mission.

Using our site doesn't give you ownership of any of that content. We ask that you don't copy, reproduce, redistribute, sell, or modify our content without our permission — and that includes framing or embedding our content elsewhere, or creating derivative works from it.

If you'd like to share or use something from our site, please ask. We're often happy to say yes, especially when it supports the communities we serve.

Content you share with us

From time to time, you might contribute to our site — through comments, submissions, stories, images, or other content. Here's how that works:

  • You give us permission to use it. When you share content with us, you're giving us permission to use, display, adapt, and share it on our site and through our channels — so we can showcase your stories, celebrate your wins, and strengthen our community.

  • You're responsible for what you share. Please make sure it's yours to share, that you have any necessary permissions, and that it doesn't infringe on anyone else's rights or privacy.

  • We're not responsible for it. We don't necessarily endorse or verify user-submitted content, and we reserve the right to remove anything that doesn't align with our values or these terms.

Links to other places

Our site may link to other websites that we think are useful or relevant. We don't control those sites, and we can't vouch for their content or practices. If you visit them, you're subject to their terms, not ours. We'd encourage you to make your own judgment about whether they're right for you.

Being upfront about what we can and can't promise

We want to be honest about the limits of what we can offer:

  • We can't guarantee our site will always be available, error-free, or free from viruses.

  • We can't promise the content will always be complete, accurate, or up to date.

  • We can't guarantee the site will always be perfectly secure — no website can honestly make that promise.

You use our site at your own risk, and while we take reasonable care, we're not responsible for any loss, damage, or expense that arises from your use of our site or its content — including situations where the site is unavailable, interrupted, or where data is lost or corrupted. We may also need to pause, change, or close parts of our site, or restrict access for individuals not respecting these terms. We'll give notice where we can.

If something goes wrong

We're all human, and sometimes things don't go as planned. If a problem arises related to your use of our site — whether it's a disagreement, an issue with content, or a concern about how things are running — here's what we'd like to do:

  1. Talk to us first. Reach out and let us know what's happened.

  2. We'll sit down together. We'll have a genuine conversation to try to understand each other's perspective and find a fair resolution.

  3. If we can't sort it out, we'll be open about that too, and we can discuss other options for moving forward.

We believe most issues can be worked out with honest, good-faith conversation. If any part of this agreement can't be enforced, the rest still stands.

If you're visiting from outside Australia

Our website can be accessed from anywhere in the world. We can't guarantee our site meets the specific requirements of every country. If you're accessing our site from outside Australia, you do so at your own risk and should make sure you're following the rules that apply where you are.
